  1. Download Microsoft USB Comfort Curve Keyboard 2000 (Mouse and Keyboard Center) other device drivers or install DriverPack Solution software for driver.
  2. Mar 06, 2020  Some older Microsoft devices are no longer supported in the latest Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center. However, they're still supported by an older version of Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center 2.3 on Windows 7, or the earlier version IntelliPoint 8.2 and IntelliType Pro 8.2 software on Windows 7, Windows Vista, and Windows XP.

What's the Cause of the Problem?

Static Built-Up?

There's a guy SMApple who wrote a post here: http://www.fixya.com/support/t3015431-microsoft_comfort_curve_2000_v_1_key. He says the problem is electric static built-up inside the keyboard. Quote:

The problems with this MS comfort curve keyboard starts when at randomsome of the keys stop working, it dose not matter how hard you pressor for how long, they just wont work, this problem is due to staticcharge build up on the thin plastic sheet/mat inside the keyboard thathas electric circuit printed on them. This new keyboard technology iswonderful and superb, the keyboard is sheer pleasure to use when it isworking, when you press the key it is quite soft and silent, so, itwont wake the baby up. it has no mechanical parts inside keyboard, ithas lots of small soft plastic **** on plastic matt that you presswith your keys so they don’t make any sound, same as in your averageRemote control. Even in this year 2010 this plastic sheet circuitboard needs lots of improvement yet, because it suffers from staticcharge build up. Microsoft seems to have opted for the cheapestquality non expensive plastic sheet circuit mat for their keyboard,probably made from some cheep biodegradable recycled plastic condoms,these cheep mats always have tendency to hold onto electric charge andwont discharge when they should, and consequently cut off circuitconnections to the keys, same technology that is used in majority ofthe household remote controls, and ,so, the reason why Remote keystend to stop functioning after a while.

His solution is to spend 15 min to open up the keyboard to discharge it, whenever keys starts to not working.

Membrance Mis-Alignment?

Another guy(stackoverflow.com) claims it's membrance mis-alignment. Also says he open the keyboard to re-align the membrance.

The bottom line about the defect is that the failure is not consistent. Sometimes the bad keys just work perfectly.

Beware of Garbage Advise

There are lots of sites that give garbage advices about this keyboard. They'll say update the driver, clean the keyboard. These are not the problems of this keyboard. The problem is with the keyboard hardware itself. Also, return for replacement will probably not help. Lots of reports that say new replacement are still bad as of 2010.

How to Fix This Keyboard

Just learned from a friend, a good method of fixing thiskeyboard. Whenever some key doesn't work, take the keyboard up andhold it with one hand, and use the other hand to give the keyboard aslap with impact. WHACK! Then, the defective keys will all workagain! Seriously. She told me this, then i immediately plugged in thekeyboard, checked that x is still defective, then i whackedit, and it immediately workd! We were laughing hard about this.

This is a fantastic solution. Because this is a really great keyboard, and now you can actually make it work.

Fix by Adding a Ground

got this comment. Seems reasonable. But i've thrown-away the keyboard by now.

STOP WHACKING YOUR ELECTRONICS!!

My repost from FixYa:Well the SmApple guy put me on the right track, but the main deficiency with this keyboard is the lack of a proper ground (which would cause a static build up. Opening the keyboard, I found a bright metal screw that held the sheets to the small pcb board inside. I assumed this was a ground, but when I took that off, it wasn't connected to any sort of ground. So, I took a small wire, clamped it to the screw, and connected it to the USB (G) port. Voila, a working keyboard!

Install microsoft word in mac. When someone wants to 'reinstall' it generally indicates that they are experiencing some sort of problem. Please mark Yes/No as to whether a Reply answers your question. Reinstalling on a Mac, however, is typically not the solution & can cause additional issues.If you'll fully describe why you think you need to reinstall & indicate your exact current update levels of both Office & OS X perhaps the issue can be addressed more appropriately.Regards,Bob J.AI: Artificial Intelligence or Automated Idiocy???
